Most ERP Vendors like SAP. Oracle, Microsoft, Sage, Infor etc. have a well-established partner network consisting of IT consulting companies spread across the globe. The Partners help in introducing the Business Solutions of the ERP Vendors to different Industry verticals. These partner companies are provided with benefits and resources to increase the marketing and sales efficiency.

 

There can be different levels of partners. Eg. - Oracle has three levels of partnership with its network companies- Partners, Certified Partner and Certified Advantage Partners. With the increase of business in Oracle Solutions or Services and the increase in the competency level of implementing Oracle products across different ERP projects like Implementation, Upgrade, Customization, Technical or Database Services, the partners can apply for an upgrade to the next higher level of partnership- i.e. the Certified Partner level in case of Oracle, which will result in a higher level of Promotion, Knowledge sharing, benefits and resources from the ERP Vendor.

 

Similar to Oracle, Microsoft has also an established network of ERP Partners for the ERP products of Microsoft like Dynamics, CRM, GP, and PoS etc. Continuously training and collaboration with partners have helped Microsoft increase its market share and ERP Product awareness among the SMEs in India. For Microsoft, ERP in India has been a success story so far.

The Partnership Certification provides the recognition of the skill, knowledge and competency of the partner in the Enterprise Application or Business Software. It is also associated with trust, security and reliability. Partners are aware of the latest product or Solution developments and are sometimes able to implement ERP Implementations or Integrations in a manner that is more efficient that a less known system integrators in the same product. Has the partner demonstrated expertise in the ERP Product for your industry?
 
What is the number of years of Business of the partner?
 
Are there any ERP Success Stories for the partner?
 
What is the level of partnership that the company holds with an ERP Product Vendor?
 
What is the list of clients for the partner in the particular industry?
 
Does the partner have technical expertise and the resources needed for your ERP Implementation?
 
Is the Partner culturally fit for your requirement?
 
What are the areas of Service offerings or the geo locations where partner service is available?
 
What does the past and current clients of the partner have to say about the partner?

 

Choosing the right partner can be a challenging task and time consuming too. However, all efforts must be put in the selection process.
